4. Controls you will use The erosion, sediment and pollution-prevention controls for the plan (CGP Part 2.2–2.4, 7.2.6).
Each control says when a site needs it. We do not size or design anything — pick what your site will actually have, and the plan describes it with the clause it answers to.
Erosion and sediment controls (CGP Part 2.2) Natural buffer or equivalent sediment controls along surface water (CGP Part 2.2.1) Needed whenever a surface water sits inside or next to the site boundary. Perimeter sediment barrier (silt fence, wattles, compost sock) (CGP Part 2.2.3) Needed on every downslope perimeter of disturbed ground — the default control on almost every site. Stabilized construction entrance / track-out control (CGP Part 2.2.4) Needed wherever vehicles leave the site onto a paved road. Storm drain inlet protection (CGP Part 2.2.10) Needed when any storm drain inlet on or below the site can receive site runoff. Slope protection (erosion blankets, matting, slope drains) (CGP Part 2.2.7 and 2.2.11) Needed where graded slopes are long or steep enough that runoff will concentrate on them. Check dams / temporary drainage channels (CGP Part 2.2.11) Needed when runoff is routed through a ditch or swale during construction.
